We are currently the first and only clinic in South Africa to offer the Zeiss Presbyond laser treatment to reduce your need for reading and distance glasses. iSurgeon has been accredited to train other surgeons in laser eye surgery.
All surgery is performed at the clinic in a dedicated procedure room with all the necessary safety standards.

Dr Sachin Bawa
Ophthalmologist
Sachin is an ophthalmic surgeon who has been in private practice since 2011. His interests include cataract surgery, Laser vision surgery and keratoconus. He has been performing laser eye surgery since 2014, having had training in Singapore, Denmark, India and The United Kingdom.
He mentors and teaches younger colleagues in laser surgery. His mission is to democratize eye surgery.
Outside of private practice, he is involved with numerous foundations and outreach programmes, to assist in reducing the burden of cataract blindness.
He enjoys running and has completed the Comrades Marathon.
Dr Kashmira Rawjee
Ophthalmologist
Kashmira Rawjee is a meticulous eye surgeon who strives to restore quality of vision to all her patients. She attained an MBBCh degree at Wits University in 2011 and attained her fellowship in Ophthalmology with the College of Medicine of South Africa in 2022. Her passion in the field is sparked by the intricacies of ocular microsurgery and she remains well-informed of the fascinating knowledge required to master the management of the various eye conditions. She has a special interest in the anterior segment of the eye including cataracts as well as glaucoma and diabetic eye conditions.
Dr Rawjee is mum to a handsome little boy and strives to keep a balance using contemporary dance, culinary experiments and getting creative.
Dr Angelika Carey
Ophthalmologist
Angelika Carey finds excitement and joy in returning vision to those who have previously been impaired.
She is a caring and conscientious surgeon who received her medical degree from the University of
Witwatersrand in 2012. She then went on to further her studies by specializing in ophthalmology in 2018 and then finishing her fellowship in Ophthalmology with the College of Medicine of South Africa in 2023.
In her spare time, she volunteers with cataract outreach programmes, helping patients in remote areas receive the life altering surgery.
Dr Carey is a mother of two boys and an animal lover. She is a photographer, enjoys sewing and painting.
Dr Aamina Hajee
Ophthalmologist
Aamina Hajee began her ophthalmology career at the university of Witwatersrand in 2017.
She is dedicated to social equity and has experience in high volume cataract surgery from her work with multiple NGOs such as The Bureau of the Prevention of Blindness and Tshemba Foundation, and has also completed an advanced cataract surgical course hosted by Orbis International.
During her training, she presented at numerous congresses and received multiple awards from the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa, South African Society of Oculoplastic, African Ophthalmology Council as well as from the Wits School of Clinical Medicine.
She is a mother of an energetic young boy, and outside of clinical practice and research, she enjoys intricate acrylic artwork and calligraphy.
Dr Ron
Ophthalmologist
Dr Ron has extensive experience working in the Zimbabwe, Botswana and South African health sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees as well as a Diploma in Ophthalmology from the University of Zimbabwe. He also holds a Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmology from Cape Town University, South Africa. He was admitted as a Fellow of the College of Surgeons South Africa in 1997, and a Fellow of The College of Surgeons East, Central and Southern Africa in 2020. He was awarded a Certificate in Practise Management by the Foundation of Professional Development , South Africa. He is a graduate of North-Western Kellogg Business School, Chicago, USA - PHYSCIAN CEO program. He is enrolled as a fellow of the Refractive Surgery Alliance (RSA) . This program is accredited by the World College of Refractive Surgery & Visual Sciences.
Dr Ron is the founding Physician and Director of The Eye Institute, a group of 10 comprehensive Eye units, in the main cities and towns of Zimbabwe. The Eye institute network offers an integrated Ophthalmic, and Optometry services as well as other associated subdisciplines of ophthalmology.
